Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure used to treat injuries by stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. A machine is used to emit shockwaves (not electric shocks) directly into injured tissue (for example, tendons or ligaments), which triggers the cells responsible for healing that tissue to repair and create new growth where needed. The shockwaves also interact with nerve endings, which results in pain reduction. Shockwave therapy was originally used (and still is) to break down calcification in the body and destroy kidney and gall stones.

Shockwave therapy has proven to be an effective treatment for the following conditions:

  • plantar fasciitis
  • tendonitis/tendinopathy
  • calcific tendonitis
  • bursitis
  • chronic muscular pain
  • joint/connective tissue injuries
  • trigger points

…and more!
